Review:   Assumptions as they say can make an ass out of you and me and this is certainly the case when it comes to Marcus's assumptions about Lena Ridegway. 

        Lena has agreed to help her friend out while she recuperates from an unplanned fall just days before her grand opening of her new store. Marcus is the silent partner in the business and comes in to help get the new store on its feet.
       The sparks  fly between them immediately as MArcis tries to tell himself that Lena is just another manipulative model. Lena tries to figure out the seemingly indominatable Marcus as they work together to get Cupid's Secret up and running, but everytime she thinks she has him pegged he does something to flabbergast her anew! 
        Things progress to the point that they enter into a bet to see who knows more about romance.
        Hmmm...I wonder who will win? 
      To find out more and how this story ends, my dear readers you will just have to go grab a copy and read it for yourselves. 
     Evil. I know. ;)
    This story is poignant and sweet, it definitely allows a person to think about their own romantic life, or whether they even have one. The little  bits about the romance shop gives one ideas to try and add something new to the old hum drum as well. I definitely recommend this book to my fellow readers who love short and chocolate sweet romances. 
   I know I for one can't wait to see how the last two Ridgeway girls find their fortunes.

Review:  Wow!! What an absolutely awesome story! i loved the back ground given during the whole story, and the forbidden love, but most of all that there is obviously going to be more!
     As an avid reader I've read a lot of stories, and after awhile some start to be same ol' same ol'.
    Nothing new!
    Virginia has put her own twist on the vampire, shifter and witch....excuse me I meant sorceress, myths. Where as most stories origins are seperate from one another these three are linked by a very turbulent past! One in which Kiarra's ancestor Morganna was once the lover of King Thorian, she was captured and raped repeatedly by King Curtis. Fortunately she escapes Curtis and returns to Thorian, only to be turned away. In her grief and anger she curses both kingdoms, the Thorians become Vampires, and the Curtis's shifters.
     But the awesomeness doesn't stop there! 
     Kale is a vampire and nephew of the dead King Thorian, he has become entranced by Kiarra even knowing that it is forbidden.
     But hey rules were meant to be broken right! 
    What follows is a great mix of sexy, subterfuge and action, and I haven't even given away the best parts of the story! 
     **Insert evil laughter**

Ooooo! Tingles, I loved it, and I can't wait to read the next book in this series by Ms. Cavanaugh.

Excerpt #7: 

               “Okay, Christa. Calm down and breathe.”

      She took a deep breath and peered at the single lit candle on the coffee table. Its flame danced, casting shadows everywhere. Shadows that threatened to stir up the demons living inside her head, again.

      She dipped her brows and wondered if the candle had been there before the wolf lit it.       How did he light it? Did he have powers beyond his ability to shift into his animal? She knew that some shifters had an extra gift.

      Did Hayden have any?

      Why the hell did she care?

      She growled and turned from the flame to take in her dark surroundings. Taking a deep breath, she banished all the questions that whirled around in her mind like hungry vultures.  She was out of here the first chance she got.

      Just as soon as she found out where ‘here’ was.

      The front door opened, and she whirled. The driver, Tanner she believed Hayden had said, entered the house. From the glow of the candle, she could make out the similarities in his features to Hayden’s. They had the same high cheekbones and same almond shaped eyes, yet Tanner appeared younger in a bad-boy way.

      She stepped back and watched as he went to the fireplace, and grabbed a broken wooden chair on his way. With quick movements, he broke the chair into several smaller pieces and placed them inside the fireplace. After striking a match, he threw it in the fireplace and stood to face her.

      The fire flared to life, illuminating the whole living room in a soft glow. Still, she watched Tanner, unsure what the man was about to do. He held a certain power that made her edgy and leery. Damn, she hated to be unarmed.

              “Why am I here? Why didn’t you just kill me with the others?”

      Tanner stared at her for several long moments before finally giving her a shrug and dropping into the nearest recliner. “That was Hayden’s call. Besides, you’re not infected.”

      Infected? Was he serious?

              “Infected with what?”

      Tanner raised a brow at her outrage, which only pissed her off even more. “Every one of your co-workers was infected with the mutant virus.”

      She started shaking her head. No. It wasn’t possible. “I don’t believe you. They’d have to have been bitten by the beast to become infected.”

      Tanner leaned his head back to rest against the back of the chair. “We used to believe that too. Like a horror movie werewolf come to life. Now, we have proof that the rogues have a serum.”

      She watched him, searching for some hint of a lie. There was none. He believed everything he was saying. “They can’t infect humans. Does it work the same as the bite? Because, if so, then my soldiers at Shield couldn’t had been infected.”

              “What makes you say that?”

              “They would’ve changed within forty-eight hours, and during that time, they’d have some kind of symptom like fever or pain.”

      Tanner lifted his head and met her gaze. “You’ve seen it?”

Interview with Hayden Raines from Divided Loyalties

Thank you so much for having Hayden and I over today.

Lia: Hi, Hayden. How are you? Please introduce yourself to the readers.

Hayden: Hi. I’m one of the Marshals of Ashwood Falls. I assist the Alphas in their duties and manage the enforcers and sentries.

Lia: What were your thoughts when you first saw Christa and kidnapped her?

Hayden: *set his jaw before answering* My wolf said, “Mine.” So I just reacted. Shield had been compromised and we needed to shut it down. I really didn’t know what to do with her, but I knew she was my mate the instant I caught her scent.

Lia: What is your favorite part of her?

Hayden: Her strength and her mouth.

Lia: Boxers or brief?

Hayden: *growls low* That’s personal.

Lia: *sighs* Just answer the question.

Hayden: Neither. Next question

Lia: See that wasn’t hard. What do you do to relax?

Hayden: I’m always relaxed.

Lia: *shaking head* I know for a fact that you are not.

Hayden: Before Christa, I would let the wolf out and go for a long run. Now, I still let the wolf out, but after the man finds release with his mate.

Lia: *smiles* Any baby plans yet?

Hayden: *his lips twitch* I’m working on it.

Lia: Thanks for being a good sport and answering my questions. I have to go talk with Ana and Kieran to see where they’re headed.

Review:   I don't normally read romances from this genre, because it's normally the same old song and dance with each book. But this totally blew me away, with the detail and emotions of the characters.
   The insecurities that Tessa feels and the bravery that she learns are very well written. I don't go for the weak female character, the one who sits there and goes with whatever the male character has to say, it seriously rankles me. But this was done in such a way that it didn't make Tessa weak. Yes, she isn't a very outgoing person, more introverted and reclusive, but she pulled on her big girl panties when she realized her brother was in danger. 
    Matt was also well written and even though I wanted to punch him at the end when he leaves, he more than makes up for it in the end. Not too mention who doesn't love a guy who even though a friend hasn't spoken to them in years, calls him asking him to take care of his sister he immediately drops his vacation plans and mans up. And even though he is a former military he doesn't come across as a macho meathead either.
     As for the bad guys =__= Man did I EVER want to kick them in the family jewels! (if they'd had any that is)
      All in all I can't wait for the next book in the series, hopefully it's Tessa's brother. **HINT, HINT**

Review:  Finding love can often be one of the hardest things that one can ever embark on. Then to lose it after 30 years together...... devastating.
   Then to unwittingly sign up for a dating service and attempt to find another person that you click with, let alone letting go of any guilt or grief that you are stilling holding onto from your loved one...
    What about trying to finally LIVE your life after years of dedicating yourself to your career. Taking the leap to find someone to share the rest of your years with, and find something to fill your spare time with...Daunting task to say the least.
   Brigadier General Eli Willows and Anya Volkov both decide, or rather are thrown into a one night stand. Eli by his fellow officers and friends who want himt o finally find someone to help him be happy again in his final years.
   Anya is referred to Madame Eve by her friend and ex manager, and needing something and someone to help fill her time, decides to sign up. Never imagining what lays in store for her when she fills out the  questionnaire.
   What follows is a surprising mix of stubbornness, sass, and smexy!
   I've read several of DL Jackson's books and I can honestly say that each one is unique and a genuine great read. I can't wait to read more from this author.

Review: Book 2 of The Capes Series by Rebecca Royce.

     Growing up a huge comic book geek (Thanks Dad) and as a rabid book reader, this story grabbed my attention and shook me by the arms! Super Powers and trying to remain some sort of anonymity in our fast paced instant news world....

     HELLS YEAH!! Sign me up for Lois Lane!!

     The added betrayal, family issues, certain medical issues and the threat of death all make for a grab you by the shorties and get ready for a wild ride sort of sensation! Ms. Royce certainly delivered and then some, I wanted the story to never end, to continue on and on and on...  Unrealistic I know ^-^ But I was so thoroughly entangled in that snare the author loves to get their readers in, that beautiful fantasy world that any author who is good can create.

     The sheer stubborness of Alice and Ace made me want to beat their heads in with a frying pan until the came to their senses. I for one cannot wait to read more of Ms. Royce's work, and most especially the next one in this series!
