Beauty and The Brigadier by DL Jackson

Beauty and The Brigadier by DL Jackson
When the Cold War meets apple pie, sparks fly.
Brigadier General Eli Wells needs a date, but he’s not been out socially since his wife passed two years before. The lack of a personal life is making him unbearable to be around and the staff has even begun to call him the beast behind his back.
When he asks his Aide-De Damp to find him a date for a special party, his best friend—and post commander overhears the conversation and sees an opening to help Eli out of his slump. Together, the lieutenant and major general enlist the help of Madam Eve in hopes that Eli will agree to the setup. Heaven knows, someone needs to get him to relax.
Anya Volkov’s modeling days are over. At the suggestion of her former agent and only friend, she elects to try an internet dating service called 1Night Stand. The first time she meets General Eli Wells, she knows he’s everything she asked for and more, but he also seems to be holding back and testing her. Can she get him to loosen up and take a chance, or will the date be over before it starts?

Star Rating: Five Stars
Review:  Finding love can often be one of the hardest things that one can ever embark on. Then to lose it after 30 years together...... devastating.
Then to unwittingly sign up for a dating service and attempt to find another person that you click with, let alone letting go of any guilt or grief that you are stilling holding onto from your loved one...
What about trying to finally LIVE your life after years of dedicating yourself to your career. Taking the leap to find someone to share the rest of your years with, and find something to fill your spare time with...Daunting task to say the least.
Brigadier General Eli Willows and Anya Volkov both decide, or rather are thrown into a one night stand. Eli by his fellow officers and friends who want himt o finally find someone to help him be happy again in his final years.
Anya is referred to Madame Eve by her friend and ex manager, and needing something and someone to help fill her time, decides to sign up. Never imagining what lays in store for her when she fills out the  questionnaire.
What follows is a surprising mix of stubbornness, sass, and smexy!
I've read several of DL Jackson's books and I can honestly say that each one is unique and a genuine great read. I can't wait to read more from this author.
